1860s Bonus Privy

It's funny how you can dig a lot in an area and feel like you pretty much got it dug out, but something tells you to go back and probe some more. Well, that is just what we did. We have dug on a series of 4-5 adjacent lots with some great results. All the privies, 5 so far, have been rectangular woodliners along the alley. We returned knowing that there just had to be another one somewhere. We probed a while and found a shallow 6'x6'x3' almost touching a great whole we already dug!

Mike is pictured here about to unearth an unusual olive green patent whiskey type fifth. Too bad the bottom was broken out of it.
Would you believe Mike said "I'm going to pull out a blob soda right now!" Not 15 seconds later we hear "Bottle!...It's a blob...a Kenzlerwaibel & Co."
It took us a minute to figure out what this was going to be and, boy, was it a beauty!
