I dug these pieces while metal detecting a Civil War camp Off of Hwy 7 just south of Holly Springs , MS.
They were dug about a foot apart from each other and therefore untouched since the war.
The hook is rusted but seems to be sturdy although I haven't tugged on it the 12 years that I've had it. The lead has the white oxidation on it which is typical as are the bullets that you dig from that time period.
A very rarely seen item that you can add to your collection.
