Well, we returned to the lot we dug at last week. We got started on number 2 of the 3 privies on this lot. We were hoping to do a little better than last week; maybe a bitters or two?

Here is Buddy on bucket detail and Mike in the hole. This hole started real good! There was so much glass and debris that we were bailing it out by the bucket full!

Here is David with a nice stoneware mineral water bottle in good condition. Unfortunately, there was a lot of broken glass and not that many whole bottles.

A nice example of an applied-top aqua vinegar bottle with a fluted neck.

The first bottle we pulled out at about the eight foot mark. It was a Jockey Club Worcestershire Sauce (right) with a crude applied double-collar top. Later, we unearthed a couple of E. Schroeder & Co. blobs, one from Memphis and the other from E. St. Louis, Ill.

Well, all in all it was a pretty good day. We definitely had the possibility to dig some great stuff. If we tally up all of the bottles we dug: 25 whole wines (+60 if you include the ones that were broken), 3 blob sodas, 3 stoneware mineral water bottles, 1 Jockey Club Worcestershire Sauce, 1 ginger Beer, and 1 whiskey. Criers (a.k.a. broken) included: 5-6 Pike's Peak Historical Flasks, olive-green E. Schroeder Ale, and a large embossed coffin pickle jar.
